The work is not easy.
This work is not easy. It is not meant to be. It is not made easily – conceptualized easily – life is not easy.
It is however, precise. Not precisely precise. But precise in its unease. This is deliberate. Deliberate unease.
It is meant to be considered. For an extended period of time. It is not an easy fix. If one treats it simply and with impatience it will fail. If it is treated simply and with patience it will succeed. It will reflect its audience.
It is a response to history:
To every American western landscape painting ever made.
To Raphael Rubinstein.
It is meant to be dancing on a very specific edge. If one “luuuuves” it – they are probably missing something.
